For Me, Feel Once More

I had forgotten how it felt.

To have the darkness engulf you as heavily as a burdened heart. To have the darkness soak your mind with the blood of your own heart that spilt years before. To have your mind both feel as weightless as a feather and as heavy as a boulder from the intense emotions that pull you every which way. To have your heart skips beats as your body gasps for air while releasing pain in a way that’s both suffocating and exhilarating.

I had forgotten how it felt.

To scream at the top of your lungs but hear nothing except a faint screech escape from your lungs. To see your entire body tremble but never had felt more in control. To close your eyes so tight, clench your fists so white, that you saw a blinding flash of color explode behind your eyelids. To be at such a vulnerable yet impossibly strong standpoint overlooking your own body ’til the end. To want nothing more than to be able to cry until every last drop of blood poured from your hidden veins.
